Chanting the Great Compassion Mantra to Connect with Spiritual Ecology in Spiritual Awakening Embracing Ecology

- Part of "The Spiritual Ecology" Series, authored by Master Hsin Tao

“Spirituality is ecology and Ecology is spirituality” is our viewpoint from which we comprehend how all things exist and we learn to respect the value of all lives, we tolerate the inclusion of space for others, and we show Love in sharing achievements. Respect, inclusion, and Love guide our sharing with all forms of existence in a co-existing symbiosis. Let us be one with ecology and show mutual respect for the value of each other's presence and the space required. Let us replace plunder with sharing.
Just as we chant the Great Compassion Mantra, which embodies maha bodhicitta and great compassion in essence, it inspires the world capable of more Love, empathy, and care that keep the world intact and unbroken, unspoiled, and not overtly abused. Instead, great compassion makes it possible for the world to be a mutually complementary and diversified symbiosis and an inter-reliant co-existence. It makes the world a better one.
The Great Compassion Mantra is a constant in our thoughts and our thoughts thus arrive at enlightenment and non-confusion, and they help us stay alert and sober with no wanton desires. Whether we chant the mantra slowly or fast, we must concentrate and stay focused on drowning out any random thoughts with the chant loud/fast enough to do so. Mantra chanting can be likened to practicing Chan in keeping random thoughts at bay, and the sound of chanting can reach the innermost part of our hearing organ to keep away any distractions. We chant and listen to our chanting at the same time will yield responses more quickly and produce better results.
To chant the Great Compassion Mantra is to show Love, care about spirituality, and help everyone return to their original selves with true concern for the world. Therefore, we hope all sentient beings can leave the realm of suffering and depart from suffering to reach joy and happiness. Notwithstanding the overshadow of the long-Covid, let us employ spiritual ecology and the Great Compassion Mantra as the linkage to connect with a life of Buddhist studies.
