- Part of "The Spiritual Ecology" Series, authored by Master Hsin Tao
The Earth is an organic structure that consists of basic elements like earth, water, fire, and wind that harmoniously converge into an ecology that gives birth to life on Earth. Be it the climate, the oceans, the mountains, and other land masses, animals and plants form a harmonious symbiosis. Sustainability is only possible when the four seasons remain intact. But people's limitless exploitation of resources threatens to drain Mother Earth's support system and a self-saving backlash from Nature is inevitable. When species can no longer reproduce, and genes across the board are damaged, a depleted ecology is but predestined, and mankind is thus doomed.
There is spirituality in all sentient beings which manifests itself equally throughout the ecosystem of ecology. Mankind is best advised not to be ego-centric, nor ever consider himself a cosmic master who can trash the Earth's ecology at will. Quite the contrary, peace and sustainability can only then be hopeful in the given symbiosis of the world when we take charge of networking Love and spirituality that enables life.
