On April 26, 2026, we held a luncheon in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as a fundraising event for a newly established center in Bandar Sungai Long. The gathering brought together a distinguished assembly of Malaysian Tan Sri and Datuk dignitaries, along with numerous devoted practitioners and participants. Nearly a thousand attendees convened in collective support of this new initiative.
In the past, our presence in Kuala Lumpur was confined to a modest space. However, with the steady growth of the community, the existing facilities have become insufficient. It is therefore a source of profound gratitude that, through these auspicious conditions, we have now secured a larger center from which to serve the needs of the community more effectively.
This new center is located in Bandar Sungai Long, Kuala Lumpur—a site where two streams converge. Situated within a landscape of natural beauty and geomantic significance, the construction of a monastery here aims not only to establish a place of practice, but also to cultivate further virtuous connections, nurture capable students and propagators of the Dharma, and ensure the sustainable transmission of the Buddhadharma in Malaysia.
The continuing presence of the Buddhadharma in the world is a source of great fortune for sentient beings, contributing to both individual well-being and social stability. Particularly in times of uncertainty and upheaval, the Dharma serves as a vital support for practitioners, offering direction and meaning to human life.
To find direction in life is to discover one’s own mind and one’s ultimate refuge. Through engagement with the Buddhadharma, one is able to discern the correct path, sustaining continuity in right mindfulness. When the mind becomes stable, a life of genuine well-being naturally unfolds. Beyond this, one is called to serve and benefit all sentient beings, thereby realizing the deeper value of life, endowing it with purpose and aspiration.
In addition to our concern for humanity, we must also recognize the importance of ecology. The ecological system constitutes an organic entity in which we, together with all forms of life, exist in a relationship of partnership characterized by interconnectedness and interdependent diversity. Accordingly, we must respect all beings and care for the environment with loving-kindness. Only through ecological sustainability can humanity itself endure.
We sincerely invite everyone to support this new center in Kuala Lumpur. The construction of a monastery and the making of offerings to the Buddha require the collective generosity and commitment of many. By gathering the merit and aspirations of the community, we may draw more individuals to this place to study and practice the Dharma, and together sow the seeds of love and peace—becoming a force for the purification of society and the world, and fostering harmony through compassion and virtue.
