Nowhere Is Inaccessible to Spirituality in Spiritual Awakening Embracing Ecology

- Part of "The Spiritual Ecology" Series, authored by Master Hsin Tao

Home-coming as a Dharma term refers to returning to the abode of Tathagata, which is also the dwelling of spirituality. The homestead of spirituality usually remains unattended until we reach the stage of awakening.
The truth is that we find our way out, once we identify with faith, and that way out is the way home.  Buddhism often speaks of "finding one's own mind." Through Chan meditation, sitting in stillness, reciting the Buddha's name, and chanting mantras, we can prevent our minds from generating delusions, attachments, and external pursuits. By extinguishing all attachment to external things, our minds can return home.
What is it about the idea of home? Home is often associated with a place safe and secure, where there is no dispute. And the safest of them all is the homestead of spirituality as a public property no one can claim their own. Therefore, it makes sense to approach spirituality as a platform for an in-depth understanding of the holy paradigm in Buddhism that roughly translates as “Compassion needs to be unconditional, and empathy is fit for all sharing one common origin”. Spiritual learning is of profound significance in life's journey. Without it, we are left merely with the pursuit of material gains. The material world, however, is often cold and indifferent, ultimately devoid of warmth and genuine connection. We are in search of the constant home of spirituality, and we pursue the merciful benevolence of Buddha, and at the end of the day, we will finally relocate our original selves.
The so-called original self is the fountainhead of life, which is otherwise referred to as spirituality. It is hoped that when we return home, we also remember to retrieve conditions that are conducive to spirituality that are lasting, happy, secure, and comfortable.
Spirituality commands limitless space. Here is to be wishing everyone a smooth entry into spirituality that knows no boundaries.
